WHAT IS SCHLAMPANPAN
SCHLAMPANPAN – a movement, a community, an ideology.
SCHLAMPANPAN was conceived as a hedonistic alternative to the fasting months celebrated by the world's major religions. In contrast, SCHLAMPANPAN invites followers to enjoy an extended month of feasting and indulgence, plus a whole calendar full of events during the rest of the year. SCHLAMPANPAN is also a word that can be used to describe anything that is synonymous with delicious, refined, tasteful. "c'est schlampanpan!" Finally, SCHLAMPANPAN is the name of the gustotainment portal that introduces restaurants, explores food and drink, and shares the earthly delights that SCHLAMPANPAN offers to epicures of all denominations.
WHAT IS SCHLAMPANPAN'S SECRET RECIPE?
SCHLAMPANPAN hosts events for its community in collaboration with top locations - dinners, samplings, wine tastings. Besides providing a first-class culinary set up at the events, SCHLAMPANPAN is defined by the eclectic mix that its members bring to the table: creatives of all walks take a seat when it's time to break bread.
SCHLAMPANPAN hunts down and gathers the best locations. But let's not forget the entertainment factor… SCHLAMPANPAN is showtime, and as such, provides a forum where people can be part of the conversation and participate in the delightful thrills and spills of enjoying a meal together. SCHLAMPANPAN also hosts themed competitions such as the Holiday Photo Competition. SCHLAMPANPAN compiles rankings of the most popular SCHLAMPANPAN locations on its website. SCHLAMPANPAN interviews people who have something to say and asks them about their personal SCHLAMPANPAN experiences.

Schlampanpan's Favorite Spots 2024
Finding the best eateries is a tricky business, and restaurant rankings are always controversial - simply because it isn't always possible to "compare" many restaurants. After all, the idea is not to determine whether one place is better than another. Nevertheless, we do have some recommendations for you that have managed to tickle our epicurean fancy. At these establishments, you can be sure to have a tasty and enjoyable evening - just like we did.

NO LUCKY STARS AT SCHLAMPANPAN?
Why doesn't SCHLAMPANPAN list any Michelin-starred restaurants?
SCHLAMPANPAN appreciates the work of the Michelin Guide and the meticulousness with which the culinary authority evaluates all the restaurants they award with a star. We are very happy to visit these locations upon this recommendation. The restaurants honored with Michelin star(s) are in a category of their own. We find it redundant to mention that they are great, nor do we want to distinguish ourselves with know-it-all whinging. Besides, it goes without saying that one should certainly be able to expect something special in a price range of 150 to 500 euros and up for a dinner with wine pairing.
At this point, we would like to mention a few noteworthy establishments in Berlin:
HALLMANN & KLEE
ERNST
FACIL
TULUS LOTREK
GOLVET
BONVIVANT
IRMA LA DOUCE
Some other restaurants that are no less-deserving are not listed here. That's because we have not yet eaten there in 2023. Obviously, we have our work cut out for us in 2024!

THE SCHLAMPANPAN CALENDAR
SCHLAMPANPAN introduces a calendar for a new age. It enables the hedonist, who does not observe other religious concepts, to go through the year with greater epicurean joy and pleasure.
THE SCHLAMPANPAN FEASTING MONTH
Highest celebration period is the SCHLAMPANPAN feasting month. The next on the horizon begins on 7 March 2024 and ends on 10 April 2024. The exact agenda, events and festivities will be determined by Team SCHLAMPANPAN shortly before the feasting month.
SCHLAMPANPAN gives its followers the greatest possible flexibility and allows them to individually schedule their personal feasting celebrations.
Integral parts of the SCHLAMPANPAN calendar year are:
THE YEAR-END CELEBRATIONS
2 feasting weeks during the months November and December. A feasting week is comprised of three restaurant dining experiences scheduled from Monday to Friday. They are traditionally celebrated in the period from 15 December to New Year's Eve. Our modern interpretation is planned much earlier to prevent any scheduling conflicts with the mainstream Christmastime gluttony.
THE STAR-STUDDED WEEK
One week in which you eat in restaurants that, when their stars are added together, have a total of at least 3 Michelin Stars!
FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH DAY
One day on which you drink an alcoholic beverage (whiskey, cognac, calvados, wine) that is older than you are. Celebrate your youth!
SCHLAMPANPAN MONDIAL WEEK
One week, three restaurants, the whole planet. Celebrate the whole world, by eating international cuisine that is less common and a bit harder to find here. Think global, eat local!
DAYS OF FINE DRINKING
Wet January
Some contemporaries greet the New Year with Dry January, by not touching a drop of alcohol. This behavior seems completely irresponsible towards the domestic wine and spirits trade, since they suffer the heaviest losses. The responsible Schlampanpanian counteracts this by welcoming the New Year with the "Days of Fine Drinking". Team SCHLAMPANPAN will announce the relevant dates.
Additional SCHLAMPANPAN Celebration Days
SCHLAMPANPAN AND ELECTRONIC MUSIC
Unlike other fine dining and gourmet communities, Team SCHLAMPANPAN's core team has a background in electronic music. Both consuming excellent food and beverages and listening to excellently produced music are experiences marked by pleasure. There are parallels in producing these pleasures, as well. Both chef cooks and DJs mix, spice up and refine selected ingredients for what is put on the table - or on the turntable.
Some DJs are eminent chefs, most notably the late Mark Spoon, who passed away much too early. More and more DJs are becoming gourmets. The banquet served up by the organizer before the gig is of central importance and a compensation for many, as a means for the performing artists to tank up on energy while enjoying a relaxing meal prior to the show. By the same token, many chefs and restaurant workers like to go out dancing after work as compensation for their self-sacrificing occupations.
